Barbie Rewind Deluxe Edition: What's in the box, and which Switch it plays on

- The Deluxe Edition is the game plus a doll. You get the boxed game, an exclusive Barbie doll, and a poster in a numbered box.
- Only 20,000 are being made. Atari says the doll comes only with the Deluxe Edition.
- It's boxed for Switch and PS5, not Switch 2. Nintendo says Switch 2 can play compatible Switch games.
- It isn't Mattel's Barbie Rewind doll line. Those '80s-style dolls are a different product, and they don't come with the game.

Barbie Rewind comes out November 12. It's a collection of Barbie video games from 1991 to 2007, plus a new mode where you decorate the DreamHouse.
If you grew up with these games, the Deluxe Edition is probably the one you're looking at. Here's what's in the box, and what to know if you have a Switch 2.
What's in the Deluxe Edition?
Three things, according to Atari's store page:
- The boxed game. It's the same game as the Standard Edition.
- An exclusive Barbie Rewind doll. She's a full-size Barbie with long blonde hair with pink streaks. She wears an Atari T-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
- A poster.
The box is numbered, and Atari says only 20,000 will be made. The doll isn't sold any other way.
Amazon's listing says the same thing: the physical game, the doll, and a poster.
Is there a Switch 2 version?
Not a boxed one. Atari lists both the Standard and Deluxe Editions for Nintendo Switch and PS5 only.
News coverage of the announcement said the game is also coming to Switch 2. Atari's own page doesn't list a Switch 2 version, though. It only names Nintendo among the stores for the digital version.
If you have a Switch 2, you'd play the Switch version. Nintendo says Switch 2 "can play compatible physical and digital games" made for the original Switch. It also says some Switch games may not be fully compatible.
The game isn't out yet, so nobody has reported how it runs on Switch 2. I'll update this after launch.
Is the doll the same as Mattel's Barbie Rewind dolls?
No. Mattel already sells a doll line called Barbie Rewind. Those dolls wear '80s-inspired outfits, like a prom queen look or a slumber party look.
They share the name, but they're a separate product. They don't include the game. The game's doll, with the Atari T-shirt, comes only in the Deluxe Edition box.
Search for "Barbie Rewind" on Amazon and you'll see both mixed together. Check that the title says "Deluxe Edition" and the platform you own.

Atari says Vacation Adventure was never released before. This collection is the first time you can play it.

Amazon was taking pre-orders when I checked. I didn't find the PS5 Deluxe Edition on Amazon.

If you only want the games, skip the Deluxe Edition. Atari also lists a Standard Edition for Switch and PS5, and a digital version. I didn't find the Standard Edition on Amazon when I checked.
If you were looking for Mattel's '80s-style Barbie Rewind dolls, this isn't that. Those are sold on their own.
